Even if no one reads this blog, it will have been worthwhile. I view this blog as a sounding board, a soapbox, a bully pulpit. This world is so messed up, I'm just so sick of it. On-demand abortion, gay "marriage", activist "judges", the list goes on and on. What is with this world? How did we get to this point? Where do we even go from here? Every day it's something new. I long for the "good old days"- the 1980's and before. As far as I'm concerned, this whole mess started with the crowning of Clinton the First. Now,not all of the ills of 2006 are not Slick Willie's fault, but in my opinion, his election signaled a ushering in of a new era, one that says "Do what feels good" and "It's ok for our elected officials to have illicit relationships involving cigars and overweight interns in the Oval Office because it's their personal life". It's the "tolerance" of such matters that really grind my gears. Yes, I know all about "judge not, lest ye be judged", but come on! Yes, most of the problems of today have their roots in the "enlightened" 1960's, but in my opinion, it's gotten a lost worse since Jan. 1993. Now, I'm not going to go on a "Clinton was the worst president since God knows when?" diatribe. The past I'm living in is before Number 42 was even born. We need that time back. Who wants to fight to get it back? It's like the saying goes- "You don't know what you got til it's gone". The sad thing is, I think we Americans knew what we had when we had it, we just didn't have the passion and fight in us to try to keep it. That's just me, but I'll bet it's not only me.
